Gear We Trust: Our Top Camera & Lens Selection for Event Coverage

Pro Camera gear detail close-up

When attending high-stakes events like weddings or corporate galas, a photographer has no second chances. If a camera sensor fails, or a memory card becomes corrupt, those memories are lost forever. That is why our gear configuration is built with absolute redundancy and visual excellence in mind.

1. The Body: Sony Alpha 7R V

Every photographer on our crew carries two Sony Alpha 7R V bodies. With a 61-megapixel back-illuminated sensor, it provides incredible detail, allowing us to crop in during editing without losing resolution. More importantly, it features dual CFexpress Type A card slots, allowing us to write every photo simultaneously to two cards in real-time, preventing data loss.

2. Lenses: The Power of F/1.2 & F/1.4 Primes

We rarely use standard zoom lenses. Prime lenses (fixed focal lengths like 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm) offer superior optical clarity and extremely wide apertures. Shooting at F/1.2 allows us to capture stunning frames in near-pitch-black reception venues without resorting to harsh flash, preserving the natural candlelight ambiance.

3. Stabilization: DJI Ronin & Drones

For cinematic videography, our videographers utilize DJI Ronin RS3 stabilizers to achieve fluid, cinematic sweeps. Additionally, we deploy the DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone to record venue landscapes, providing establishing shots that make the event video feel like a cinematic feature film.

"At the end of the day, gear is simply a tool. But knowing that our tools are the best in the industry allows our creative crew to focus entirely on composition, emotional timing, and authentic storytelling."
